5 years or more experience working in Linux or UNIX environments, preferably enterprise Linux and AIX environments

An expert�s understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; understands boot process, kernel compilation, inter-process communication, devices and device drivers, file system concepts, paging and swapping , and can use performance analysis to tune systems

Strong inter-personal and communication skills

A solid understanding of networking / distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client / server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide filesystem layouts

Windows Server 2003 experience

Experience with host security (for example, passwords, uids/gids, file permissions, filesystem integrity, use of security packages)

Experience with Experience using relational databases a plus

Previous experience as a database administrator a plus

A degree in computer science or a related field

Programming in an administrative language (Tk, Perl, bash shell)

Network security (for example, building firewalls, deploying authentication systems, or applying cryptography to network applications)

Board-level diagnosis and repair of computer systems

Component-level diagnosis and repair of computer system

Configuring network filesystems (for example NFS or AFS)

Working with complex TCP/IP networks (networks that contain multiple routers and multiple media)
